Why volunteer for Rushmoor CAB?
All sorts of people volunteer for many different reasons, but one thing that unites them all, is that they find it challenging, rewarding and varied.   CAB adviser training is respected and valued throughout the advice sector.
Skills and Experience
Volunteering provides an opportunity to learn new skills and to develop existing ones.   These include things like communication and dealing with the public, as well as increasing your self-confidence through practical hands-on experience.   There are opportunities for everyone - and we never stop learning!
We need people of all ages and backgrounds, who can commit to our aims and principles, and support the delivery of high quality advice.   For advisers undergoing the full CAB Certificate programme, there is an expectation that you will commit to volunteering for at least one full day or two half days per week.
Be Part of a Team
For many people, the best thing about volunteering for a Citizens Advice Bureau is getting to meet a wide range of people and make new friends.   We are very proud of our team spirit, and we provide a supportive environment to make sure everyone gets the most out of their time with us.
Some roles are more flexible than others. We'll do our best to find a role that fits you, and we'll be as flexible as possible in enabling you to volunteer at the times that suit you best.   And you won't be out of pocket - we will cover any travel and parking costs incurred by volunteering.
Make a Difference
Above all, volunteering for CAB is a chance to make a real difference, and put the skills and experience that you already have to good use by helping others.   By volunteering for Rushmoor CAB you will be playing an active part in improving the lives of local people as well as influencing the development of local and national social policies and services.
